This 61-year-old book is in excellent condition. Titus Flavius Josephus (37 - c. 100 CE) was an older contemporary of Roman historian Tacitus. A fine historian himself, he has left us the most complete account of the First Jewish War (66 - 73 CE), although Tacitus' account has also survived at least in part in The Histories (see 3.1.6.28). But Joseph's account is particularly valuable if only because it is one of those rare occurences in which the tale is told by one who fought on the losing side.
